|I went up to Nashville yesterday to check out Vanderbilt. Once we arrived, my dad and I went to Opry Mills Hotel something or other near the Grand Ole Opry. The hotel was huge...it actually has a boat ride in it. The Hotel is built around glass Conservatories, so we walked around for a good three hours. The hotel is done in the style of New Orlean's French Quater...so in a way its a very odd juxtaposition between tacky and tasteful. The gardens are beautiful, but the addition of the river boat ride and a Pizza Hut is just...not in the best of taste. None the less, it's really intresting and not very many people can say they've ridden a boat in a hotel.
Vanderbilt itself is amazing. The campus is gorgeous, the students are friendly, and the food is awesome. I wish I could go there, but I don't think that's what fate has for me...
