Lecture: We learned about spacial relationships. Dominant, subdominant, and subordinate shapes.
Homework: Arrange 3 black rectangular or square shapes in a visually pleasing manner on a white 8 x 10'' piece of paper. Think about balance, unity and variety. Do another arrangement with 5 shapes. Followed by an arrangement with 3 shapes and 3 lines, and then with 5 shapes and 5 lines. (4 total black arrangements on white 8'' x 10'' paper) Lines can go off the page, squares must have a border. Do not create awkward shapes and tangents. Label the dominant, subdominant, and subordinate elements on each page.
