|So I'm auditioning for an alternative rock band tonight. I emailed this dude who put an ad up on Craigslist, and he hit me back within the hour. I'm showing up at their band practice tonight at 7 with my Yamaha.
I've been practicing, and my voice is actually starting to come back, so tonight might not be horrible. I took it slow through Op. 79 last night, both hands separately. Just getting the notes even, attacking boldly. I tired quickly, but I could tell I'm getting stronger with all the Hanon exercises.
There's a small start-up church who is looking for someone to do exactly what I've been doing for the last three years, just one leader, doing stuff from Rend Collective, Hillsong, etc. It pays, only 4 hours a week, and I can't do it for less than $25/hour. (Anything less would be a pay cut from my last job.) Well, actually, I'd probably do it for less. Need to start experimenting with leadership skills. Need to start getting better. Not because I want to lead a mega-church, but because I want to connect with people. To make them feel something. Invite them into the experience.
At any rate. One step at a time. I think I wanna check them out on Sunday.
I need a djembe.
