Finished Black and Blue. Wow. The book was alright, nothing special, until the ENDING. Holy shit. I did not see that coming. The denouement was gut wrenching. I recommend it based on the ending of an otherwise solid but not spectacular novel. Good insight into why women stay with their husbands in abusive relationships for so long, how they see their abusers and themselves, and the environment that holds them where they are.

Next: On the Road by Jack Kerouac.

its quite a difficult book to get into but once you get used to all the language and stuff it becomes okay. i'm like 40 pages left of the book and its getting really good cause soemtimes you don't know where the book's trying to go and in the end there is definitely a sense of conclusion and them getting somewhere. i'm sure it'll be really satisfying cause jo keeps talking about how good it is

Hey! Cool, so now when I finish, I can actually talk to someone about the book. I've read 40 pages or so, and I like it. Not difficult to get into, for me.
