Subject: Gun Control
the national rifle association says "guns don't kill people, people do" but i think the gun helps. after all, what other method of killing someone is so easily portable, easy to operate, and effective at such a range as a gun? other portable methods such as a knife or a club requires the assailant to sneak up on his/her target, and if the first blow misses it might backfire on them. other effective methods such as poisoning or explosives require a lot of preparation, nothing like the ease of pulling back the slide and pulling a trigger. and what about distance? a gun can be fired from ranges of well over one-hundred feet by a novice. the only other weapon that is as easy to operate at such distances is the bow and arrow, and that isn't exactly portable. now, people are lazy, i'm sure that some people would be angry enough to find an alternate method if a gun is not at their disposal, but most of us would just give up.

not like gun control really works anyway, if the media is to be trusted, most gun crimes come from stolen weapons. but still, please buy trigger locks, even if you don't have kids in the house. guns are horrible things, but a little safety never hurts.
