Subject: Care to help kids?
I have the 'Music' yearbook spread to make for next years yearbooks and I need some help on choosing the bands I get to feature.
I need a band from each genre
Examples:
Classic Led Zeppelin
Emo/screamo The Used
Indie The Killers
Country Kenny Chesney and Johnny Cash
Rap/pop
Techno Chemical Brothers
Alternative Muse
Jazz Louis Armstrong
Punk Green day
Political Rage
Ska Mustard Plug

Also, I need any interesting concert stories, why you choose to listen to certain music, and what'd you do to meet your favorite band. Feel free to make it humorous, if it's good I'll quote you in my spread.

Nothing special, just what i think of music.

"To truly love music
you have to feel it in your soul. If your favorite song doesnt make your head rush, your knees weak, your blood pump, and leave you dizzy and wanting it again, you probably don't love music as much as you thought you did." - miiishy <3

im thinking of more, about the other thigns now

Some kind of poppy emo? I don't know. But they're definitely not punk.

no. they are punk. its just not the same punk from the Sex Pistols/Ramones age. Its modern punk.

lol, neither of them are nothing compared to rages lyrics. did either of those bands start a 3 thousand person riot at a democratic national convention? have either of them had all members of the band arrested countless times for their music videos? you dont even listen to rage. which you should before you assume they arnt political.

for rap, there's always the motherfucking beastie boys. They had an album out this year too, so it's kind of relevent. I'd also push em for political, but it seems like the rage group far outweighs it. Why would you have a classical band in the yearbook? what the hell does any classical music have to do with that year?

(reply to this)

fadingfallenstar

Re:, 10-14-04 6:40am

Hah.. I didn't mean "classical" that is why I wrote "classic" like old bands..

Anyway, I can't really put the Beastie Boys, it has to be one of those black rapper guys..

I can't favor my music choices.

Tabletop

Re: Re:, 10-16-04 11:21am

why does it have to be black? fucking racism.
The Beastie Boy were the most oldest group of rappers to release an album this year, so you can just say that they get bonus points for that. Plus, their music was topical.

do John Coltrane instead of louis armstrong...

I thought Yellowcard for punk.. I hate them as much as you do but they are probably one of the more reckognized "punk" bands, therefore fulfilling their purpose of being in year book. Techno... go with the Chemical Brothers...
