Subject: I'm going to do it.
DON'T YOU DARE LET ME BACK DOWN!!

I'm going to donate 12 inches of my hair to Locks of Love. I decided against 13 because it's an unlucky number.

I'm doing it because I think it might help me learn some selflessness. I can be unbelievably selfish and narcississtic, and I want to change that. Maybe cutting my hair is a good start. Knowing that my hair is going to a good cause will help me tremendously. (Not gonna lie, I also just need to do something about how thin my hair is getting. Maybe a new style will help me take better care of my hair and stuff. We'll see. And who knows, maybe I'll look better with short-ER hair!)

Maybe I'll cut it for Thanksgiving...it makes sense, right?

I think I might cry. But I'm going to do it. Before my 16th birthday, I will have cut my hair. Officially. For Locks of Love.

Melissa, if THIS is what you needed a hug for because you were "in shock" I'd like you to know that if this is traumatizing, you're a very very strange girl.
Not that it isn't important. But I mean how attached can one be to their hair? It grows back man! No worries. Someone will enjoy it.

I think it will be good to have a change. Your hair will go to a good cause and, hey, if you really don't like it, like Louise said: it will grow back. You can do it girl! I am proud of you!

By the way, I have to thank you for talking to Mr. Hayman at your clairnet party. I would be completely mortified if I wasn't happy that I was on the wrong list (so I made the team, but SOMEBODY *coughRoberthocough* wasn't paying attention when he made the list)
Hope you had fun at ze partay!
When are you getting your hair cut? I think you should randomly do it one weekend without notifying ANYONE and then show up to school on Monday and Tadah! Melissa ez gorgeous!

lol, no problem about the soccer thing. Mr. Hayman said many good things about you. I was extremely relieved and happy to know how highly he thinks of you and your soccer skillz. (haha. i just said skillz.)

anyway, i think i may need support from friends like AT the shop when i get it done. soo...chances of a 'voila' appearance are slim. sorry!
