DBZ is a moderately good anime if you actually watch the version FUNimation didn't mutilate, but I suppose I like it for the villians. Very well developed proper villians that don't take after the generic dark, evil personality and appearance. It didn't need pretty-boy vampires and shit either to be good, that's a plus. It was original.

And no matter what anyone says, the prequel; Dragonball was a work of art.

To watch the non-dubbed version would be hard as hell for those of us who have limited funds and live in Alaska, where the extent of our anime is the Suncoast store.

Have you looked at Vegeta lately? He's the stereotype incarnate of villians everywhere. Yes, I know he ends up all good, but still. And Frieza-- minus the appearance-- is fairly villian-ish. Didn't he have like black nail polish or lipstick?

The names annoy me to no end, and the animation for the first half (up until, I believe, the end of the Frieza saga) annoyed me. However, I look back on the stuff I did watch, and I get all nostalgic, so I can't really hate it.

Hell, if it was still on, I'd watch it. Well, if I was bored, and my computer was broken, but I don't watch TV unless that happens ANYWAY, so.

Plus, Trunks = pwnage. I don't care what you say. Mirai Trunks, anyway.

You can pick up Dragonball Z DVDs in second hand stores for five bucks or less with the uncensored Japanese subtitle versions since it's an incredibly long series. That's an advantage to it being a dying fad.

Yes, I have looked at Vegeta lately. I've seen every episode of DBZ and I just got an urge to go to DaizenshuZ. You may have noticed that I express my hatred for Vegeta (both old and new) whenever the subject matter is bought up. I don't recall having a conversation with anyone about Vegeta which didn't involve the word "TRAITOR" or numerous profanities n_n He shames my love affair with villians. Proper villians that is. Such as:

- Dr. Gero
- Cell (in which I would be hopelessly in love with if he didn't look the spitting image of a black and green beetle creature - and the fact I am currently staring brazenly at Otto Skorzeny)
- Kid/Majin Buu (to a lesser extent)
- Garlic Jr
- Android 13 (<3)
- Frieza (Pfft! Appearances. Kefka wore more makeup than him and his father put together, and I don't see anyone complaining about him - except for the majority of the female Final Fantasy fanba-- Ugh)

I like Akira Toriyama for his creative way of naming his characters. I always thought it was cute having the little kid; Goku named after Monkey from the legend. He was called Son Goku too! Akira liked Monkey! Meet my best friend. His name is Akira Toriyama.

All the English puns make me chuckle at the naivity most Japanese people possess when it comes to the English language. It's funny, really. Oh and the Red Ribbon Army! Great one, man. Naming them after colours and all them having a significant connection with their names! Kudos, It's adorable. Or the Saiyans all being named after Vegetables (which they ALL have about the intelligence of exluding Nappa? Ha. Ha. Ha. I'm such a bitch)!

.. I'm not being sarcastic. I find the names cute.

Animation? I seem to be the only person I know (besides Yari) who can tolerate anime that doesn't have as high a budget as something like.. anything at all from CLAMP. I don't see anything wrong with the animation - Dragonball had it, Lupin had it, and the original Astroboy had it. All were great successes and had a heavy influence on modern anime. If anything it appeals to me because I'm very used to watching that stuff. But this is going to end up as a debate based on opinions; which is a terrible oxymoron to begin with. I mainly commented to defend Dragonball Z - which I still hold as an anime on my Half-Decent list. Dragonball reigns supreme - despite it's bad animation. DBZ is not a worthy sequel, but it's far from trash. GT is what should be called trash. Ick.

*shoots Trunks* Half-Saiyan mudblood. e_e

.. I doubt I made any sense there as I wrote almost directly whta I was thinking off the top of my head. But, eh. As long as you can make out "GT is trash", I'm happy.
