| I got well rejected by a bunch of my friends tonight. I had planned a little bonfire party at the beach, and despite everyone I invited having said that it sounded like fun and they'd be there, nobody showed. I waited for over an hour, burned what I'd brought to burn, and then went home. Nathan was there, so at least I wasn't completely alone, but I'm having some trouble not taking it personally. This is the third or fourth time this has happened to me this year. |

I'm a little embarrassed to bring it up, though, and at this point, I'm leaving town on Sunday anyway, so they won't have a chance to redeem themselves. I may just start asking people specifically to let me know if their plans change and they can't make it, or sending out invitation reminders close to the day of the event, in future. |
