Ok, is there a website like this?

I want a site where I can enter the names of bands that I like, and it will provide me with something like Google Reader where I can check ONE PLACE to see all of their upcoming shows, albums, etc.

I mean, I could just like, put parts of their websites in Google Reader but it seems so ineffective to sort through all the stuff I don't care about just to get a quick list of places/dates.

Ya'all are hooked up... any thoughts?

You have iTunes, right? The closest thing I know of to what you are describing is iConcertCal (Google it). It's a plug-in you can install. After you do so, access it from iTunes and it will comb all of your artists and display calendars of shows for them nearby. There's also a tab for album releases.

Alright... that's a start.
But what I would love it to be able to see that, say, Modest Mouse, Ben Kweller, and Eric Hutchinson are all playing shows in say... Orlando, FL. Not near me, but I would travel there if the shows were worth it. That kind of thing.

I get all kinds of Ticketmaster alerts, certain venues, different band fan lists, but nothing that will capture it all in one place... and I'm tired of finding out that I just missed awesome shows.

Yeah, I basically use that app and a host of e-mail newsletters like the ones you described. If you do have a RSS reader, add LiveDaily.com. They'll have the artist's complete tour itinerary when it's announced, and they cover a wide range of genres and artists, including some more obscure bands.

Thanks. I will give that a shot.
