Nah. Most married couples I know are actually quite happy in their relationships (including myself). Every couple has their own struggles and issues though - there is no such thing as a "perfect" relationship. Honest communication is the way to get through everything - and it's helpful to get good at letting go of expectations and practicing active compassion for your partner. My husband and I both struggle with our individual depression too. Marriage isn't a miracle cure for never being sad or fucked up again.

A wise proverb I once heard: If everybody in the world threw all their problems into a single pile, we would immediately reach for all our own problems back after seeing what everyone else is really going through.

I'm quite happy in my marriage, I get to spend every day with my best friend.
