C25K Week 5
In theory, tomorrow I'm supposed to be doing week 5, day 3 of the Couch to 5K (C25k) program. Though I'm actually on week 6, as I had to repeat week 4 due to scheduling, or laziness, whichever you want to say.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a solid 20 minute jog, with no walking in between. I'm debating whether to skip it all together, or try w5d1 or w5d2 again.. Or just go for the 20 and see how long I can go. The longest I've ran so far has been 8 minutes, and that was yesterday.
Part of me feels like I could complete the 20 minutes even though I've been struggling so much with completing the exercises lately. My thought process is that with no walking in the middle I can just go for it. I feel like when I have to jog, and then walk, and then jog, and then walk, and such my mind takes over too much and I'm just waiting for the walks, and then when I'm walking I have too much time to freak out about getting going for another jog.
So anyway, guess I'll have to wait and see tomorrow. I'm probably going to be repeating week 5 entirely though. In the beginning I was bummed about taking things slow or having to repeat things, but now I'm okay with it. I'm just going at my own pace and doing what I have to do.
I plan to keep with this though, and even hopefully enter a 5k race or two in 2009. Depending on how things go, maybe even a 10k. Just to finish, not to win. Regardless, it's fun to look back on the earlier weeks of the program and remember how hard they were for me, and now I feel like I could complete them very easily.
