Well, I've officially lost it, and joined NaNoWriMo; for those of you uninformed, that's National Novel Writing Month, and having joined, I'm now obliged to write a 50,000 word piece by the end of November. Ha. Ha. Like I have an extra time to begin with! This should be fun. In any case, I'm going to be posting most of my work here. Character sketches and plot inspirations and the actual writing...you know the drill, and if you don't, you will soon. When I'm doing actual writing I'll use the main character's name as the subject. When I'm not I'll just say NaNoWriMo. And maybe I'll get inspired and write stuff about my other cast of characters, just for a mini-break from the grindstone. We'll see. Wish me luck. Or oxygen. I could do with either.

I'm going to try something a little different from the publicly-accepted blog style. Bear with me.

My characters speak for me. I've got a whole cast of them. And because they're mine, a little of myself goes into each. By writing about them...by letting themselves tell their stories...I can express myself, too, in a way.

Now, don't get me wrong. These characters aren't carbon-copies of me. Some things are different; some things don't directly apply to my life. Like Paul's mother. Aidan's sexual preference. Angela's bruised past. Keelin's good luck with love.

Some of them know each other. Some are separate entities. I'll just let them narrate as they go along; if you stick around, you'll begin to understand...maybe you'll even come to know them as I have. And so doing...come to know me a little better, as well.
