Got into Hume. A bit of a relief. I didn't want to have to take the bus to class. (Lakeside is far away from classes) Still don't know my roommate, they're emailing it Friday. Doesn't help me much, because I will be at UF friday for preview. That is IF I can get my immunization records. @_@

In other news, I am pretty effin sick. I lost my voice yesterday, but I figured it was from yelling at kids all week. Today my fever broke a hundred...and climbing. I'm trying to get better so that I can go to work on monday, though part of me knows I'm going whether I'm well or not. I'm already missing Thursday and Friday, and part of Tuesday for this stupid doctor appointment to get my medical records. Argh. I'm going to make like $75 this week. >:-( Meanwhile, I still have to go to the bank and cash like 10 checks. I have two paychecks, two checks for catsitting, and all my graduation presents. I apparently have an account at wachovia that I didn't know about, so I guess I'm going to deposit the money there. Monday, hopefully.

I really should go lie down, so this is all for now. Later, kiddies.

:: Mood: tired

I had to pretty much force myself to actually sit down and write this. And I'm not too sure why.

Pittsburgh was awesome, but it went really fast. We spent a majority of the visit prepping for the party, but that was fun. We went to walmart more times than I care to recall. Giant Eagle, Festival Foods, Target. Oh my. We lived there. But still, it wasn't annoying shopping, it was fun shopping. Although I did get pretty pissed off in walmart one day. I think it was thursday or friday. Gary drove me and Karen and my mom over to walmart to print out some pictures on the Kodak machine from our digital camera and also to make a copy of one picture. I had the idea of doing a sort of now and then thing because we had this picture of me and Gary when I was about one, making him about 6 months old in my crib. I thought it would be so cool to get a picture of us now and frame them both together. However, the Kodak machine wouldn't acknowledge our digital card. So we had to buy DVDs for the camcorder, since the machine won't accept a DVD with video on it, and the one we had brought with us had video from graduation. Then we went home and baked some for the party, then went back to walmart without my mom to try again with the DVD. After waiting in line at the Kodak machine, we found out that the Kodak machine doesn't take DVDs, only CDs. We had to go to the Fujifilm machine. Not a big deal, just a few steps away, but now we had to wait in line again. Finally got the DVD to work in the fujifilm machine, but instead of printing out pictures, it printed out receipts and told us to pick up our photos in an hour. Argh! So I said screw the fujifilm machine and made a copy of the baby picture in the kodak machine. Then, by chance, as I was checking out and paying for the kodak picture, I asked the photo guy if I should come back in an hour for my fujifilm pics. He told me they might be ready now, and checked for them. Thank God, they were there. Then I had to pay for them and we raced out of walmart because Gary had a game that he had to leave for at 4:20 and it was already 4:05. Crazy. I was a little pissed at walmart at that point, but it all worked out and the pictures looked awesome.

The shrines were so much fun. We had three posterboards each for pictures from birth to present, then we set up a table in front of the fireplace for awards, momentos, etc. I have pictures, it was really cool. The cake was awesome too. It was a little crazy. Poor Norm at Giant Eagle. We had on opposite corners two-tone roses. Two corners had green and white roses, and two corners had blue and gold roses. Then in the middle we had "Congratulations Lauren and Gary class of 2005." The left side said Go Gators and the right side said Go Titan Baseball. We thought it was going to be very "chacha" but it turned out beautifully. I have pictures of that too. ^_^

Lessee...trying to remember what else. This is why I wanted to write this before I forget anything else.

The party was really fun. It was a little awkward at times, because there was a bit of time when only Gary's people were there. They don't know me, and the concept of a joint graduation party was a little beyond them. Poor Gary, he had to explain it like 50 times. Soon enough though family showed up, and they were really happy to see me and my mom. It had been 4 years since we had seen most of them, and a lot of family members have fallen ill or died in between. Everyone's getting older, and it was important to see people for a good occaision, not for a funeral. I was sorry that Allison couldn't come, she was at Virginia Beach. Paul came though. He's really cool. Into dogs almost as much as I am. XD He has a blue merle great dane named Octavius. His roommate has a great dane mastiff mix...I think it's name is Brutus. Joan and Bill were also there, and Joan is trying to plan a "cousins" trip to Disney Land! (Joan is my mom's cousin.) Linda lives out in Arizona now, and it's only a few hours drive to Disney Land from there. Naomi was there, she got a ride with Joan. Glen has been in the hospital for a while now, and Naomi is not well after Ruthie died with Glen sick. She seemed to be ok though, and in surprisingly good spirits. Aunt Bea was there too, with Carol and Paul. Aunt Bernice wasn't there though because....I have no idea. But apparently Debbie is crazy and it's really getting to Aunt Bernice. Whatever, I always knew Debbie was psycho. But it's really....disturbing? weird? something...Aunt Bea looks almost IDENTICAL to Memaw. I mean, I know they're sisters, but still. Lots of people had commented on it, because it's kind of weird when someone's been dead for seven years to think you see them. Apparently Carol looks a ton like Aunt Alice, and that was a big deal too. I think that's all the family people that were there. Joan, Bill, Carol, Paul, Paul, Naomi, and Aunt Bea. Yeah, ok.

People were really generous too. I got a card from Ruth Sumpter, who I don't know who that is. But apparently she was invited and didn't come, so she just sent us both cards. Allison gave me a gift separate from her parents too, and she wasn't there either. Gary and I each had baskets set up for cards/gifts. I ended up getting a little over $200. Aunt Pam and Karen also picked me out a graduation charm for my bracelet. It's sparkly. XD

The Burdetts came to the party as well, minus Justin. : \ I was really kind of anxious and nervous to see him, but he had to work late. The rest of the family was there for about two hours, then a few hours after they left Mrs. Burdett came back. After that my mom, Mrs. Burdett and I spent a majority of the party in the living room or on the deck catching up. The neighborhood has apparently changed a lot. These kids on the corner house became heroine dealers/pharmacists. I don't remember them, but apparently they were nasty little children and my mom and mrs burdett called it that they would be no good adults. Mike Seaver is like 30 now and has a family of his own. He is like the only other person I remember from Cashley Ct. Anyway, it was really really nice to see them. Comforting. It's cool to hang out with people who have known you forever. Mrs. Burdett was like my second mom. Me and Justin were together 24/7. She and my mom still joke about planning the wedding. How would that be for irony....we did get married when we were five. Then again, we also went trick or treating in June. And sold rocks. I defended those last two, seeing as how people actually gave us stuff on both accounts. It was using our cuteness to our advantage. So anyway, key piece of information: Justin is on facebook. I facebooked him as soon as I got home and we started up a conversation. Haven't carried it over to IM yet. Seems we keep missing each other. Always away when the other one is on. He is going to Penn State, information science and technology. Kind of makes me regret not going to Penn State. But it's not like we would have had classes together or anything. Hopefully we can reconnect through online and periodic visits. I'll try to see him next time I'm in the burgh. I'd also really love to see the old house. Right now there's a family in there with two young-ish kids, one of which has downs syndrome.

We talked long into the night, and Mrs. Burdett was one of the last to leave, well after midnight. Sunday (the day after I got there....no longer in chronological order) we went to Trader Horn to buy candles and other random party stuff, and we found this swing, like one of those three person swings you put in a yard or porch, and we bought it for Uncle Paul for father's day. He liked it, but he still says that the best part of the present was that me, Gary, Karen, and Jeff put it together. We messed up a few times, but eventually got it together, and it was very popular at the party. We put it on the deck for people to sit and talk. Friday night (night before the party) we went out to dinner at Eat 'n Park. That was fun too, it was nice to get a break from cooking.

Wednesday after we picked my mom up from the airport we (mom, me, Jeff, and Gary) went to the Pirates game. I tried to buy a pirates shirt, just because it's cool, but there weren't really any good ones with the Pirate logo. My mom bought a Clemente shirt and we spent a bit of time walking around the Park. PNC Park is so awesome. I got my full dose of Pittsburgh-ness by having a Primanti brothers sammich (sandwich) at the park. The perogi (sp?) race spurred a nice discussion of Pittsburgh accents, which I discovered I have more of than I thought I did. "It's time for the Great Pittsburgh Perogi Race 'n 'at!" People dressed as giant perogis race around the stadium. It's fun. Gary and I were really rooting for Oliver Onion, but Saurkraut Saul took first. Oliver was slow, and Gary screamed out "Cut him! Send him back to triple A's!" It was really funny. Pirates lost, but we still had a good time.

Aside from Pittsburgh, things have been pretty uneventful. Work is really more exhausting than I planned. But it's paying off. And when I say paying off, I mean money. I got my first paycheck!! $229!! I was so excited. I have so much money now, it's crazy. I have money from work, money from graduation, and money from cat-sitting for Mrs. Demko. Hehe...But now I do have like 40 million checks to cash/deposit. I like working with the kids, but 21 5-year olds for 7 hours a day takes its toll. I come home every day and take a nap. I'm not getting much rest this weekend either. Saturday is Fishmonger's partay, and Sunday I'm teaching Sunday School. In retrospect, it was probably not a good idea to continue teaching sunday school while I'm doing camp. I'm starting to just get five-year old overload. The other day my mom was watching Nanny 911, and I had to change the channel. It was just too much to watch screaming little children on TV after having dealt with them all day. But they are cute. A few of them have gotten really attached to me and they hang all over me. They're crazy. They seem, though, not to understand the rules very well. They always want me to carry them or to sit on my lap. And they can't. They take offense to that too. Somehow, though, they get over it. There are a few of them that just walk right over me. They know exactly how to get me to do whatever they want. It's terrible. But nevertheless, those are my favorite kids.

I never used to believe when people said how fast time goes, but it really does. I mean damn, we're going to college this year. Scary. Soon we'll be married and have kids and jobs and white picket fences. And mortgages. Gah, I'm done venting for this entry. Over and out.

One Fell Off and Bumped His Head

:: 2005 16 June :: 8.44 pm

Been a while.

I leave in two days for Pittsburgh, and I could not be less ready. I have zero clean clothes and zero energy with which to do laundry. Mind you, I am not complaining by any stretch of the imagination. I am super-psyched for this trip, I just am afraid that I will be up all night tomorrow packing and will be tired Saturday in Pittsburgh. Last time I went up I had stayed up the whole night before, since I had an early flight and didn't start packing until like 10. I was exhausted when I got there, and I'm pretty sure Karen mistook it for lack of excitement to see her. She's really sensitive to my moods and stuff while I'm up there, I have to be really careful. She cares so much about my feelings towards her, and that's the last thing I want her to be insecure about. The simple solution: get off the computer and start packing. And yet I can't seem to make myself do it.

On another note, I am covered in paint. Today we made little boxes for fathers day. 21 5-year-olds with paintbrushes equals mess. Work is fun, but surprisingly exhausting. The kids are constantly going from here to there, always busy. From the classroom to gym to snack to playground to computers to art to devotions to lunch to playground to movie to playtime to dismissal. Somewhere in there I get a 30 minute break. The rest of the day "PUSH ME ON THE SWING MS LAUREN!" "HIGHER" "YOU CAN'T FIND ME!" "Can you tie my shoes?" "Can you open my juice" "Guess what!" "One time..." "My mom/dad/brother/sister said that..." I'm going to fall over. I never thought it was so exhausting just maintaining kids. Forget running around chasing them, playing, etc. It takes an enormous amount of energy just to deal with them regularly. Always talking, swinging on my arms, pulling my shirt, they're insane. But I still love them....most of them. Some of them give me a little 1/4 life crisis, because I've known them since they were tiny babies. The kids from my student assistant class are going into middle school. They used to be four. I have two kids whose brother/sister were in my student assistant class when they were born, and now they're going into kindergarten.

Caroline Cleveland is attending camp.

I just can't get over the fact that I've grown up.

But I really am having a good time, the kids are adorable, though sometimes annoying. Everyone keeps pressuring me to be a teacher. 0.0 *twitch*

I really cannot get past the feeling of being in limbo. I feel so disconnected, and that's the only way I can describe it. It has been so long since I've gone out and done something fun with my high school friends. I say high school friends because Sarah and I did go see Madagascar on Sunday. It's as though everyone's gone already, though they're all right here. I have talked to a few people, and I honestly miss them, which is hard to believe. I really didn't think that I would be sad not seeing everyone every day, but I think it's the feeling that not only am I not going to see them every day, but I'll probably see them once or twice a year. I just feel so in between things. I am done with high school, and that's how it is in my brain. But I don't recognize myself as being in college. I'm just kind of ...there. Or rather, here.

Everything seems so abstract to me. It feels like nothing is actually happening, or going to happen. College is very abstract to me. Even going to Pittsburgh seems intangible. ..I think I just made up a word. Regardless, I think a large part of the reason I can't get myself to pack is because it still hasn't sunk in that I'm actually going. I really don't know how to describe it. I think that I lack something tangible ahead of me, and it's like the future has stopped. I keep thinking that things will become more real as they get closer, but I mean damn, PA is in two days. Alright, I'll wrap this up and go get a shower and do laundry (not at the same time). I need to get to bed early since camp is so freaking draining. Hopefully tomorrow I can pack by 10 and get to bed. I have to wake up Saturday at like 4. Bleh. Oh well, it'll be worth it. ^_^

Sidenote: List of things not to forget while packing:
1. Photo Albums (2)
2. DVD Camcorder and DVDs
3. Clothes
4. UF T-Shirt
5. Turtle (don't ask)
6. ATL pennant
7. Eagle bobblehead
8. Diploma
9. Tassles
10. IB Stole
11. DVDs (Phantom, Incredibles, Finding Neverland, Family Guy)
12. Bracelet, Ring
13. Squishy pillow for the plane
14. Graduation/senior pictures
15. Camera
Hmm...must call Karen to see if I've forgotten anything.

:: Mood: excited

I'm really excited. I spent like half the evening/afternoon talking to my aunt and my little cousin. We're starting to plan the graduation party for me and Gary on the 25th. It's only 4 weeks away! My aunt said that in Pittsburgh it's a thing to set up an area in the room for a "shrine" where you make a posterboard of like growing up pictures and school memorabilia and such. You also display stuff for the college you're going to and your high school diploma. I'm super excited, I love making things like that. So me and Karen are in charge of decorations, and it's gonna be fun. We're also getting picture cakes. Instead of getting a sheet cake we're gonna get two half cakes. One of them will have Gary's picture and his HS colors, and the other will have my picture and my HS colors. mmm...green cake. lol. But I'm going to bring up my tassles and one of the pennants I grifted from band banquet for the shrine, and...oh! I have to order graduation pictures! And I still have to send out announcements. Whoops. I'll go get them tomorrow hopefully. My mom has been so busy with 8th grade stuff, we haven't had time to go order them.

I finally got all of my national merit stuff out in the mail today. So hopefully all of that will work out as planned. And when I say as planned, I mean that they will give me money. All that's left is to call them monday to be sure they know that I'm going to UF.

*sigh* I haven't gotten a comment in like a month. Then I wonder why I don't update frequently. I had thought that woohu/LJ would be a good way to keep in touch in the coming months/years, but I am starting to heavily doubt myself based on the lack of actual communication on the journals. Meh, I guess I'm just as guilty of it too...I haven't commented in a while either. Perhaps the journals are losing their...I dont really know what word I'm looking for here, but it makes sense in my head.

I will, inevitably, update at some point in the future.

An update is long overdue.

I think the last time I updated was a week ago, so I will go through the events of the last week.

French exam went ok, other than the fact that I mixed up the words "chambre" and "salle" and feel like a dumbass for it. French 1 man... But I won't lose too many points for that.

Friday was Kristen's party, and it was a lot of fun. We basically did nothing, but it was awesome to just hang out with everybody and talk. Pancho and Robbie came about 45 minutes after I did, and it was pretty awkward for a while. Hardly anyone there was friends with them. I haven't had a class with Robbie since like 3rd grade, but we ended up talking for like an hour. o.0 Weird. Anyway, I ended up leaving pretty early, since I had to wake up at 6 the next morning. Got home around 11:30-12ish, and pretty much went straight to bed.

Saturday I woke up at 6, got dressed in the stuff that I bought friday as a last resort. Sidenote: I went to the mall friday before the party and actually found a white dress! And then I found white shoes! It was amazing. So anyway, I drove over to FAU and met up with Tom, who helped me get my tassles on my cap. Then I went in and Meredith and Mrs. Gregory helped me get all my stuff on, hat bobby pinned, collar on, etc. I found all the NHS officers and after a wild goose chase we found Mrs. Zacher and gave her the frame. Hope she likes it, she didn't open it at graduation. It was a bit rushed. So then I got upstairs in my line and chatted with Anca and Courtney and Lauren Garroway as we waited for the processional to start. Finally the band played and we all nervously filed into our rows. I sat next to Mrs. Schilit, which was so great. Mr. Ierace sat behind me and he had a number of clever comments. After a few minutes I went up and sat on the stage. I was pretty nervous, but everything went fine. Then I had a mad dash to get from the stage all the way to the back of the gym to play in the band. I was so glad we played that song, it was a perfect way to end my time in band. Then we got back in our seats and went up to get our diplomas folders, had the ceremony of tassles, and threw our flowers (that was the best part!) before we filed out and that was it. Will told me that he timed it and it was in fact an hour and 12 minutes. Afterwards me, Adam, Liz, Amanda, Krystle, Leah, and Kristen went out to lunch at Roadhouse. We got balloons. Then me and Amanda went garage saling and I bought an aquarium that I had been looking for for quite a while. My mom says I can't get fish, but I think I can wear her down pretty easily on that one. I didn't go to Veronica's party Saturday night as I had planned. Instead I went out to dinner with mi familia to Ichiban. It was nice to have something with my family that was specifically pertaining to something that I had accomplished. That doesn't happen often. When we got back me and Will went to blockbuster and rented Team America which we watched that night. It was just a nice quiet day. I like my diploma, it's pretty. Lots of gold stickers and a nice blue folder. XD

Backtrack: Thursday after graduation rehearsal a bunch of us IB Music kiddos went to FAU library where Amy taught us music stuff that we should have learned from a real teacher. And while we were there I bought a General Chemistry book for a dollar. I'm such a nerd. So then Monday was the exam. It sucked to have an exam after graduation, but I'm glad it was this one of all of them. It was a small group, mostly made up of some of my closest friends. I spent an hour on the first essay, which turned out to be bad, since I left myself 90 minutes to write 5 essays. Needless to say, my essays grew progressively shorter as the exam progressed. I barely finished, and wrote 11 pages. Ms Kelly and Timbo said that we were the first class to actually use the whole time. Most other classes had laughed and walked out after an hour. I think I'm anywhere from 3-5 on this exam, it was not terrible. I just hope that I used enough "musical terminology" for them. But it really doesnt matter, I know I'm getting the diploma. Not that the diploma matters either, since I have bright futures.. Regardless....

This week has been amazing. I have done absolutely nothing all week. Just been a bum. Sometime next week I will have a party. Then I'm having a party in pittsburgh June 25. Well, I'm not having a party, technically. It's my cousin's party, but it's a family thing, so...I graduated too. Hehe, it's just gonna be fun. I got that whole week off of work, so I get to be there from the 18th till the 26th. I have to take two more days off to go to preview which I finally signed up for.

Anyway, I really must go. Just felt I needed to update, and I've been putting it off after graduation. I'll update again later...sometime.

For the first time, I actually feel done.

The Band video is done. The NHS video is done. SHF Induction is done. Classes are done. Exams are....almost done.

They are going well though, exams. Calc was a piece of cake. I was just talking to Mr. Power today about it as he was signing my yearbook. I think 6 minimum on calc, maybe 7. Hopefully 7. Chem was decent. I'm predicting a 5. I went over some of it with Mr. Dalsass the day after, and all of the paper 1 questions we went over I got right. I'm pretty sure I passed atleast. Let's see...what was next. Oh, English. English was English. 5. History was ok. The DBQ was effed up. It was about the Warsaw Pact countries invading Czechoslovakia in 1968. I didnt even know that they did invade Czechoslovakia in 1968. But I think I BSed my way out of that. I forget what questions I did on paper 2. A cold war one about something, and one on the origins of a war, for which I picked WWI. Paper 3 had exactly what I wanted on it. I did one question on the articles of confederation's failures and how they were addressed by the constitution, one on Lincoln's role in the North winning the Civil War, which I pwnt, and one on Black Power in the Civil Rights movement in the second half of the 1960's. It was beautiful. By the Civil Rights one I had kind of given up though, so it ended up being only 2 pages. But it still had enough information to atleast get like a 12 or 13. So I'm 5/6 in history. French is tomorrow. It's gonna suck. I really have to study a lot tonight. I'm predicting a 5. Hopefully one of the essays will be a friendly letter. It's been so long since I've been in French class, I forget the format of the test even. I know there's 2 reading comps with short answer, then one with a 100 word essay, then paper 2 I think is 1 essay. Hopefully. Yeah...5. Music is monday, that's what's going to kill me. I'm counting on calc to bring that up. We have a meeting for it tonight, since no one knows what the test looks like. Then we have a week to study/pray.

Let's see...what else has been going on.. I've really enjoyed these past few weeks, despite the work load. It's not nearly as much as it was during school. Intermittent exams, some studying, work for the clubs and organizations, and a lot of free time to actually have a life. All the expectations have disappeared. I don't have to stay up until 1 doing English homework. I can stay up till 1 watching Craig Ferguson. It's really what I envision college being like.

Band banquet was Friday. My last band banquet. It was so much fun. I actually got very excited for it. I had to stop on the way at CVS to get the officer gifts. Oops. Krystle was my date, we had matching dresses, but no one really noticed. Oh well, we knew. And we have pictures to prove it. I had a good time with the favors. We tattooed ourselves and started a gang. And we wore the beads. I grifted two lamps from other tables so that the threesome could each get one of the fiber optic centerpieces. And we got cups and bandanas and mugs and footballs and bobblehead eagles. I put the pink bandana on Sasha, it looks pretty cute. She wore it all weekend, and is still wearing it. I won an award at banquet too. The Extra Mile Award. Surprisingly, it means a lot to me. I think I really did go the extra mile for band this year, I did a lot of work. And it's nice to be recognized for it, since the theme of the year seems to be ignoring my hard work. Thank you, National Merit. Fuckers. Anyway, so yeah. I got a plaque and it's pretty and I'll hang it in my dorm room. Because I'm a nerd. Actually I probably won't hang it in my dorm room, but I'll hang it in my real room. And all the seniors got $25 gift cards to circuit city. Not sure what you can buy at circuit city for $25, but it's a nice gesture. I'm sure I'll put it towards a camera or a computer. Speaking of cameras or computers, my parents keep bugging me about what I want for graduation. I looked on bestbuy.com for a good digital camera, since I constantly complain about the one I have now. I found my dream camera, but it's $350, and I'm not sure how much my parents were planning on spending for my graduation. But it has a 8.3x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom. It's amazing. And it's Nikon, which is my favorite camera brand. My mom keeps saying "If you ask me, dollar for dollar, Sony makes the best product." I just shake my head. Nikon is infinitely superior. I heart it.

French Induction was Thursday. It went pretty well. I was pissed off that I spent so much time hooking up the dinner reservations and then she cancelled it when not enough people signed up to go. Not pissed at her, pissed at people who didn't sign up. But it's not the end of the world, because she does not blame me for it. The people at the restaurant were pretty mad though when I cancelled 2 days in advance for a party of 15-20. Can't go there again.. Anyway, I went and spent like all of my money for food for the thing, which was ok, I guess, except for the fact that I am broke now. Then when I got there she handed me a paper and informed me that I had to read. In French. Terrible! (Said in French...damn cognates) But I got through it.. Then we lit the candles and said the pledge to Société Honaraire du Francais and I gave Madame the gift. That's another reason that I'm broke...I spent $20 out of my own pocket for that gift, since not enough people paid up. Wtf is wrong with these people?! Anyway, she really liked it, and I'm glad. I went into her room today, and saw that it was on her desk. That made me happy. I wanted to do something for her that said Sorry for fucking up so much. Even though I didnt, she just kind of has a knack for making you feel like you fucked up. So I think I accomplished my goal in that sense. It was a nice way to close the year with french club. I'm going to have to come back and visit next year to see who is le/la président(e). And make them do the soccer match. Even though Youngman might not want to after Tippu broke his ankle.

I was up until 2 AM doing this NHS video. I think it turned out pretty well though. Had I spent some more time on it it could have been better, but as it sits, I spent about 14 hours on it. And $80. So NHS needs to reimburse me. I'm not too worried though, Mrs. Zacher will get the money to me. Ah, crap...I was supposed to give CDs to kelly and blake. I will have to give it to them later. Damn. Oh well..

The band video took a significant more amount of time and money. But I think it turned out pretty well. Everyone seemed to like it. I was surprised by the response my moment got. I mean, I knew it was funny, but... Today when Mr. Lerner was signing my senior checkout sheet he told me "You have a good future ahead of you as a stand up comedian. You have great delivery." It took me a second to figure out that he was talking about my senior moment, then I said thanks. It was nice of him to say though. ^.^

So today. Today was senior checkout. Turned in all of my books except two. Have to go turn those in tomorrow. And give Timbo $30 for the IB stole. Must remember that. Must. I promised her. Because I really wanted to buy it, but I didn't have the money. So she told me that she doesnt do that for everyone, but since it was me, she would let me do it. Again, a nice gesture. I feel appreciated.

So now I'm officially done with high school, except for those two exams. Wow.

Wednesday - French exam, turn in the rest of my books, Senior Awards Night
Thursday - Graduation rehearsal
Friday - Party
Saturday - Graduation, Party
Sunday - Party? Sleep, study
Monday - IB music
Tuesday - Party?
June 13 - Begin work.

And that's how it stacks up. Oh, I wish someone was there with me to see Mr. Power's face when I told him I got a job as a camp counselor teaching little kids. He looked at me like wtf? Who would hire you to teach? Of all things... Eh, you would have had to have been there. I thought it was funny.

Over and out.

Your #1 Match: ISFP

The Artist

You are a gifted artist or musician (though your talents may be dormant right now).
You enjoy spending your free time in nature, and you are good with animals and children.
Simply put, you enjoy bueaty in all its forms and live for the simple pleasures in life.
Gentle, sensitive, and compassionate - you are good at recognizing people's unspoken needs.

You would make a good veterinarian, pediatrician, or composer.

I just like it because I think it's funny that it says I'm a good artist or musician. But I like that it says I'll be a good vet. And I do consider myself good with animals and children. So there is some truth to it. Not that I put much value in these quizzes.

Sasha had her surgery today. I know that's a good thing, because she hadnt been using her leg, and it was beginning to lose muscle mass, but still.. She's in really bad shape right now. She cried the whole way home from the vet. She was still very much under the anesthesia, but I'm not sure how much pain medicine they gave her. I'm giving her stuff at home, but I dont know that it's enough. She has tons of trouble getting around, and she cries a lot. She can't lie still for too long, but she can't really get up. Her whole back left leg is shaved, as well as about 3 inches on each of her front legs for the IV. And she has a pretty large incision with staples. It's pretty much exactly how it was before, except her back wasn't shaved for the pain patch. I told the vet this morning to have her microchipped, but she wasn't. Oh well. Dr. Boss asked if I wanted it done right then, but I told him no. She looked so miserable, I wasn't about to have them give her another shot on top of it.

It just makes me so upset to see her in this much pain. She's like a child. But there's nothing I can do for her. Sometimes she lies down on the wrong side and really gets a lot of pain, but she has such trouble getting up, she'll sit there for a few minutes, lying on her injured leg, until she can gather enough strength to get up to lie on her other side.

She's finally pretty sound asleep. There's no way I'm going to wake her up to go to bed, she can sleep in the family room tonight. She gets her staples out next friday afternoon, and then after that I have to start doing physical therapy with her. I really hate that we don't have a pool, because that would be the best thing for her. And they closed the dog beach. There's nowhere she can swim. : ( She will get better though. It will be a few weeks, but she'll be in less pain than she was before, even though she's in so much pain now. It's a normal reaction to the surgery, keeping in mind that they sawed off part of her bone, it's just tough to watch, knowing that I can't really do anything to help her.
