The Passion was great the other day. I can't really put into words everything I experienced, but it was a very well-made film, and it is one of those films that will be in the "essential" canon of movies for years to come, I believe. It was like I could feel the beatings, every blow hurt me. The way they showed that everyone was to blame for Jesus' death is probably the best interpretation of the Passion i can account for. Plus, the ending put me at loss for words.

I watched "Lost in La Mancha" tonight after the fish fry. It's a documentary on this one director (he made "The Life of Brian" and "12 Monkeys", forgot his name) and his wanting to make a Don Quixote movie for the last 10 years. He eventually got enough funds to start production, but then it went downhill, what with actors, F-16 flyovers at their filming locations, dust storms, money issues etc. You know its doomed, so the irony helps magnify the halarity of the disaster. You really should rent it.

If you want to watch several documentaries/mockumentaries, get "Lost in La Mancha" "This is Spinal Tap" and "Waiting For Guffman" and maybe "Bowling for Columbine... they're all great. I don't agree with Michael Moore on many things, but BfC is decent.

Here's a music story for all you mixers/fusionists:

DJ Makes Jay-Z Meet Beatles

Danger Mouse makes "Black" and "White" equal "Grey"

It's the ultimate remix record: Underground DJ Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton) takes a cappella tracks from Jay-Z's The Black Album and composes new beats for each song using only samples from the Beatles' "White Album." The result, the aptly titled Grey Album, is an ingenious hip-hop record that sounds oddly ahead of its time.
"I had seen that there were these a cappella Jay-Z records," says Danger Mouse, a New York native who has found his greatest success in England. "I was listening to the Beatles later that day, and it just hit me like a wave. I was like, 'Wait a minute -- I can do this.' "

Even though DM is limiting his sounds to the two source albums, Grey is hardly a straightforward mash-up record. Jigga's ubiquitous "Change Clothes" is now spit out over some sped-up harpsichords from the Beatles' "Piggies," infusing the track with a goofy bounce. On the other end of the spectrum, the gunning guitar blasts from "Helter Skelter" are cleverly spliced throughout Jay's arrogant "99 Problems," giving the track a rumbling metal undertone that recalls Run-DMC's Raising Hell.

The album will not be sold commercially, but copies are in circulation via the Web -- at press time, representatives for Jay-Z and the Beatles could not be reached for comment.

"If somebody like Ringo or Paul McCartney heard it, I think they would dig it," says Danger Mouse. "If Jay-Z heard it and said, 'This sucks, dude,' then I'd be like, 'OK, everyone please send me back their copies.'"

"Believe it or not I super sized my sights on the surprise in the cereal box

My stomachs smaller than my eyes

so I went to see the doctor and he said "turn your head and then cough"

I didn't listen to what he said instead I couldn't wait to get off"

Eh, Simpsons was mildly amusing last night, and Arrested Development apparently went on hiatus as so they could show a Simpsons repeat earlier in the night. I ended up turning on Mail Call at 9:30 or 10, and watched that instead. Pretty interesting, actually.

My audition last night for King & I was just okay. Paula was at the sign-in table, and kind of created a standard for me to surpass when she told other people at the table that she "Heard so much about me, oh, he played the King in OUaM at MCC last year and he was amazing I hear. Oh, by the way, good luck." As soon as we got in the room the piano player handed us copies of the Alto/Soprano part of 'Getting to Know You'; considering like almost all of the kids in the audition slot were ages 6-12 I guess it was a decent selection, but then there was myself, a little 8-year old girl who could seriously sing Baritone, and Isaac whose voices were lower... Isaac got through it without much difficulty, and after making the piano player angry that this girl wasn't singing higher, she finally gave up and let the girl (Morgan?) sing lower. I had a hard time taking it down to bass, probably because of the four sharps or my plain inability to sing, and she got frustrated with me. The dance part was incredibly simple, and nobody got to do our readings (eh, double-edged sword. My selection, the end of 'Cask of Amontillado' was a little out of the period and mood of the musical, but it showed that i could read and act with expression) After everyone left, Morgan and myself stayed to sing our prepared songs. Morgan was amazing (sang both the girls and the guys part in 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen' beautifully) and I thought I did very well on my song... But they didn't seem impressed with me at all.

I managed to get all of my homework (FST project plus a lit paper and a thing for Chem) done in like 2 hours Saturday afternoon. Play was a bitch Saturday, and I was going to see Dancing at Lughnasa at the College in the evening, and I had minimal time to get it all done, but I managed to pull through. Lughnasa was pretty good... It was a depressing story, but hey, death adds drama. My friend Mrs. Giganti was in it... she played Kate.

I'm not looking forward to play tonight.

I had an inspirational idea for a play Friday night. It would involve getting a lot of copyrights from a lot of different shows, but it'd be INCREDIBLY funny. Not telling you the idea, for you might steal it.

One more thing... Super Millionaire is nothing special. Though, if a celeb edition comes out, the "Wise Men" should be stupid, wise ass people, just for laughs (Adam Sandler should be a static person in that room)

That I will definitely watch.

Oh, PS it was funny last night because there was 1) A question about a condom commercial 2) Regis's voice cracked more than mine

I'm working on the scarecrow layout right now. Personally, I wish I could have two layouts and switch them at will, but woohu doesn't have the capabilities... oh well.

Tell me what you think about the new design...

User Pic? (The red Scarecrow pic is up right now)

Font Color? (Green? Orange? Tone down the orange to more of a red because the alternate scarecrow pic is red?)

Background? (black?)

Journal width? (I personally like it narrow, but I could make it a little wider...)

Updating the Journal Structure
Check out the new user pic ^^^ I'm looking to make a Scarecrow layout (why, I don't know. But it'd look cool) And possibly a U2 one. tell me what you think... I know the picture is all jagged on one side and its kinda small, plus the colors of the layout WILL change from the Ugly Organ ones... so tell me what you think.

BTW news flash on the Batman front... Probably only Fatman and pat will care, but...

Ra's Al Ghul is going to be the villain in Batman: Intimidation, with Scarecrow as a possible sidestory (the sources aren't really too credible, but they all said the same thing and didn't cite each other but Warner Bros themselves, so it's a 90% surity)

I was there and I saw what you did

I saw it with my own two eyes

So you can wipe off your grin

I know where you've been

It's all been a pack of lies.

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord

I've been waiting for this moment for all my life

Oh Lord

Oh Lord.

Today will be a busy, if stupid day off. I have to clean the whole house on my own, plus transcribe my SISTER's paper (Why didn't she do it before she left to visit colleges yesterday beats me) and I have to practically gut out my room, and still be at play at 6. it's easily possible, but I don't have the motivation to do it. It's my day off, who really wants to do any work? Call my if something's up or you wanna do anything, I need any excuse possible to get out of the house.

I had a pretty bizarre dream last night. It probably doesn't sound bizarre, but you had to be there to experience it. I went to play practice, but for some reason I got handcuffed to my chair, then all of a sudden several people walked by (didn't know half of them, and the others were faces I had seen in commercials, like the guy on the most recent Cingular commercial where he says its his "you're not the boss of me" plan) and stopped to talk to me. Then I heard Dan Chandonnet behind me talking to some little kid about Alkaline Trio. I somehow stood up and walked away, with the chair still attached to my handcuffs, floating behind me, and opened a locker and walked into it (somehow the chair fit through), it brought me back to my basement, where I was sitting in a chair with a big stab wound.

weird, eh?
