| Nothing bad happenend today, but I feel iritated for some reason. Italian didn't help because she made us feel inferior yet again. I had lunch and dinner with my friends, but there wasn't much to talk about. My english class sucks. It's just so boring. And the teacher is so subjective. At least I didn't have to go to my freshman seminar today. I got to go to a speech by John Schuster instead called "Answering the call to the marketplace." I thought he'd speak more on why the marketplace needs us, but instead he spoke of finding our own call in life. If we go to school and get an education and develop our skills as a businessman or whatever, those skills are useless if we don't put them toward a meaningful end. The thing I'm struggling with, besides whether or not marketing is right for me, is if I can participate in business in a just way, especially when it seems that so many business are unjust. Walmart, for example. They give their customer's a great bargain, but they treat their employees like shit. I don't know. Basically, I have to look within myself and go out a whim to find my call and answer it. | |
